Patricia Silva
Patricia is a driven Chemical Engineering student at Clemson University with a growing passion for biomedical sciences and quantitative research. With an academic emphasis in Energy Studies and hands‑on experience in laboratory research, she brings curiosity, discipline, and a strong collaborative spirit to every project she joins.
As a Creative Inquiry Research Assistant in the Birtwistle Lab, Patricia contributes to a project focused on increasing quantitative multiplexing and computational efficiency. Her work includes supporting fluorophore‑based assays, live‑cell imaging, data collection, and workflow optimization—experiences that have strengthened her analytical thinking and technical adaptability.
Beyond the lab, Patricia is deeply committed to community building and mentorship. She serves as a Small Group Leader with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, guiding incoming freshmen and fostering supportive spaces for connection and personal growth. She also plays a key role in The Hills Retreat, where she has led fundraising initiatives, coordinated logistics, and overseen food operations for large‑scale student events.
Patricia’s involvement extends across multiple organizations, including Women in Science and Engineering, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and Clemson intramural sports. Her bilingual fluency in English and Spanish allows her to connect across cultures and contribute meaningfully to diverse communities.
With her blend of scientific curiosity, leadership experience, and dedication to helping others, Patricia brings a vibrant and thoughtful perspective to BioEduConnect. She is excited to support students exploring biomedical sciences and related fields, and to help build a welcoming community for learners across Latin America and beyond.

Ana Paola Silva
Ana Paola is an academically distinguished and motivated high school senior at RBHS (Class of 2027, GPA 4.861) with her sights clearly set on health science studies.
She’s part of the founding team and a Research Contributor at BioEduConnect, a role she’s held since 2023. She collaborates directly with students and physicians at several health centers, including Centro Médico Maracay, on research translation and outreach — initiative, research, and service combined, and the same bilingual, cross-border mission this entire platform is built on.
Since August 2026, she’s also a Physical Therapy Intern at PRISMA Health Orthopedics, assisting therapists with patient flow and rehabilitation tasks while observing real treatment plans in action — direct clinical exposure most students her age never get.
Her longest-running commitment is tennis: a Varsity Tennis team leader with 13+ years of competitive play across Venezuela, Mexico, and the U.S. She’s a 5A Tennis State Runner-Up (2024) and two-time Region Champion, and manages her team’s social media — a track record of long-term dedication, achievement, and leadership.
She brings that same hands-on drive to healthcare through her role as a Sports Medicine Student Aide, a position she’s held since 2023, supporting Certified Athletic Trainers with equipment prep, hydration, first aid, and taping — real experience at the intersection of athletics and medicine.
As a member of HOSA – Future Health Professionals, she participates in service projects and chapter activities that connect her to the broader healthcare community. Beyond these core activities, she holds OSHA 10-Hour Safety and Heartsaver CPR/AED certifications, is an AP Scholar with Honors, holds the South Carolina Seal of Biliteracy, and has organized the Tennis Ball Drop fundraiser for three consecutive years alongside relief fundraising for earthquake victims through the Universidad Central de Venezuela.

Sofia Malaspina
Sofía Malaspina is a multidisciplinary professional with a strong foundation in biomedical sciences and advanced training in logistics and supply‑chain management. She holds degrees in Histotechnology and Cytotechnology, along with a Master’s in Logistics Management—a combination that gives her a rare blend of scientific expertise and strategic operational insight.
Her career spans healthcare, academia, and retail operations, where she has developed strengths in strategic sourcing, inventory planning, market analysis, and cross‑functional communication. Sofía’s background in pathology and laboratory sciences provides her with a deep understanding of diagnostic processes and biomedical workflows, while her logistics training equips her to optimize systems, improve efficiency, and support data‑driven decision‑making.
Sofía also spent several years as a university instructor and academic mentor, teaching and guiding students in Histotechnology and Cytotechnology. She is recognized for her ability to connect theory with practical application, helping future professionals build confidence in laboratory techniques, scientific reasoning, and real‑world problem‑solving.
With her combination of analytical thinking, scientific knowledge, and commitment to education, Sofía brings a valuable perspective to BioEduConnect. She is dedicated to expanding access to biomedical learning, supporting students across Latin America, and contributing to a community that empowers the next generation of healthcare and science professionals.
