Patricia is a driven Chemical Engineering student at Clemson University with a growing passion for biomedical sciences and quantitative research. With an academic emphasis in Energy Studies and hands‑on experience in laboratory research, she brings curiosity, discipline, and a strong collaborative spirit to every project she joins.
As a Creative Inquiry Research Assistant in the Birtwistle Lab, Patricia contributes to a project focused on increasing quantitative multiplexing and computational efficiency. Her work includes supporting fluorophore‑based assays, live‑cell imaging, data collection, and workflow optimization—experiences that have strengthened her analytical thinking and technical adaptability.
Beyond the lab, Patricia is deeply committed to community building and mentorship. She serves as a Small Group Leader with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, guiding incoming freshmen and fostering supportive spaces for connection and personal growth. She also plays a key role in The Hills Retreat, where she has led fundraising initiatives, coordinated logistics, and overseen food operations for large‑scale student events.
Patricia’s involvement extends across multiple organizations, including Women in Science and Engineering, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and Clemson intramural sports. Her bilingual fluency in English and Spanish allows her to connect across cultures and contribute meaningfully to diverse communities.

Ana Paola Silva
Ana Paola is a focused and motivated high school junior with a strong passion for medical sciences and healthcare innovation. Her academic drive and commitment to service make her a standout young leader in the STEM community.
Her interest in medicine is strengthened by hands‑on experience as a Sports Medicine Student Aide, where she supports Certified Athletic Trainers with equipment preparation, hydration management, basic first aid, taping under supervision, and athlete care. This early clinical exposure has shaped her understanding of patient support, teamwork, and real‑world healthcare environments.
Ana Paola is also the Founder and Research Contributor for BioEduConnect, where she has helped build a platform dedicated to making scientific and medical information more accessible to the Venezuelan community. Her work in research translation and outreach reflects her commitment to bridging language and accessibility gaps in health education.
Her leadership extends into multiple areas of campus life. As a Varsity Tennis player, she supports team performance, sportsmanship, and social media communications. As a member of HOSA, she participates in service projects and activities that deepen her exposure to healthcare pathways. Sofia Malaspina
Sofía Malaspina is a multidisciplinary professional with a strong foundation in biomedical sciences and advanced training in logistics and supply‑chain management. She holds degrees in Histotechnology and Cytotechnology, along with a Master’s in Logistics Management—a combination that gives her a rare blend of scientific expertise and strategic operational insight.
Her career spans healthcare, academia, and retail operations, where she has developed strengths in strategic sourcing, inventory planning, market analysis, and cross‑functional communication. Sofía’s background in pathology and laboratory sciences provides her with a deep understanding of diagnostic processes and biomedical workflows, while her logistics training equips her to optimize systems, improve efficiency, and support data‑driven decision‑making.
Sofía also spent several years as a university instructor and academic mentor, teaching and guiding students in Histotechnology and Cytotechnology.
